OOTD: Black & White Stripe Dress

I LOVE stripes, always have and I'm sure I always will. I've said it before; they're classic and fresh! Some may not think it's an ideal look for the spring, but I think stripes can look great during any season, it just depends on how you wear them. Keep reading to see how I styled this striped spring outfit and check out my Striped OOTD from February for another idea.

Today, Kristina, from Pretty Shiny Sparkly, has a challenge for fellow bloggers; she wants to see our take on this seasons trend: Black and White Stripes. Interested in taking part? Check out her post, Blogger's Do It Better: Black & White Stripes and submit your own outfit!

1 Dress, 6 Ways to Wear It!

I love magazine spreads featuring one article of clothing being styled in many different ways. They get you thinking about different ways you wear your own clothes and provide you with inspiration to get you started. Hopefully that's exactly what this post will do for you, too!

Often times we wear a dress once, then have trouble figuring out a different way to wear it. We get stuck in a style rut, and then we can end up worried about being seen in the same outfit twice when it's something more recognizable than your go-to LBD. You can completely change the look of a dress, make it look unique and different each time you wear it, just by taking a little extra time and doing some brainstorming. I like to start by putting on the dress that I want to wear and then try on different shoes and accessories with it. Just consult the mirror, or a friend, and have fun!

NOTD: My Lifesaver Nicole by OPI w/ Zig Zag Tips

It's time for a fun nail look! Today, my nails are inspired, in part, by my 1st Day of Spring OOTD. I've combined an aqua polish with a fun, white tip. Keep reading to see how you can recreate this look!

Nicole by OPI My LifesaverSinful Colors Snow Me White on tips

I began by applying a clear base coat, then two coats of My Lifesaver from Nicole by OPI. This color is a Tiffany blue shade and I adore it! I allowed these two coats to dry completely before proceeding. In fact, I polished them last night and I finished my manicure today, just to be sure it was super dry.

OOTD: 1st Day of Spring- Peplum Top with Mint Jeans

It's officially Spring! Today marks the first day of my favorite season; I love seeing the pop of color everywhere you look.

When I was thinking of ideas for today's post, I decided I wanted to do a "First Day of the Season" OOTD. I'm sure we all have at least one "First Day of School" picture stashed somewhere. Yes, you know the one maybe you were showing off your new school clothes, lunch box, and backpack. Why not take that idea and apply it to the seasons?

I wanted to wear something light, bright, and girly for my "First Day of Spring" OOTD. Basically, I wanted to wear a lovely spring outfit today!

Tramp Peplum Top, Cello Jeans Mint Jeans

Today, I was gravitating towards my new peplum top that I recently hauled. It's such a feminine shape... with the delicate lace detailing. The crisp white color of the top is perfect for this time of year. I paired it with my mint jeans, that look so fresh and epitomize spring to me. I love this combo, how about you?

The Shopaholic Tag

Lately, I've been watching a lot of "Shopaholic Tag" videos on YouTube. This tag was created by Alana at WWelcomeToMyCloset on YouTube. You can check out her original video if you'd like to hear more about it. I wanted to take part in this fun tag because I think it's fitting for this blog of mine. I'm curious to hear your answers to these questions too!

How To Layer

Layering is a great way to transition between seasons, particularly Winter into Spring. It's time to ditch those warm winter clothes for some lighter and brighter spring items. Most parts of the country, or world for that matter, are much cooler than here in Florida. Dressing in layers is key because you still need to keep warm while incorporating your spring clothing.

If you do live in a warmer climate, don't worry. You can still incorporate layers into your look, too. If you're like me, no matter how warm it is outside, I'm always cold indoors; everywhere you go in Florida, there's air conditioning. Always be prepared and look stylish... wasn't that the girl scout motto? :)

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm

When it comes to lip products, I'm not super picky. I like pretty shades, reasonably priced products, and packaging that keeps fingers and lips off the merchandise. I initially heard about Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balms about a year ago and wanted to try them, but changed my mind when I saw the price. Seven bucks for a glorified chap stick? I'll pass. It wasn't until this past fall when I came across a Burt's Bees duo set that included Tinted Lip Balm and Lip Shimmer for a more reasonable price of $9.99. I purchased it, tried it, and immediately fell in love!

Collective Haul!

Lately, I've been stopping into clothing stores to just browse. No, I take that back, browsing would imply that I'm just passively looking or mindlessly wandering through a store, when in fact, I'm on a mission... I even have a list. Just like my Lip Products Wishlist, I have one for clothes, shoes, and accessories. (Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see it). I've had success this week in finding some items that I've been on the lookout for, plus I was able to check off an item on my Lip Product Wishlist too!

I stuck to the discount stores (Marshals and Ross) because a lot of the items I've been looking for are trendy pieces. I don't like to spend a lot of money on clothes that I may grow tired of quickly. I also like to shop Forever21 for this reason, but shopping there can be stressful and I wasn't up for that this week.

So what did I find?

NOTD: OPI Bubble Bath

Today I'm wearing OPI Bubble Bath, my "go-to" nail polish. This feminine, pale pink shade is one of my favorites because it makes my nails look so clean and healthy. Since it's a neutral, it goes with everything and it's appropriate for any occasion, environment, or age. All of these reasons is why Bubble Bath is my top polish and the one I reach for over and over again.

My Wishlist: Lip Products

I've mentioned in a previous post that I keep a running wishlist in my head of things that I would like. Recently, I've actually started to make lists of these things... on paper! Well okay, not real paper, but rather in the note section of my phone.

I might be alone in this, but I find it difficult to tell what lip products actually look when I'm in a drugstore. How are you supposed to know what a product really looks like from a sticker on the package or a small window on the cap (especially when the cap is colored). I generally like to scope things out online first and then head to the store (now with my list). I no longer need to remember a plethora of products and names because it's already jotted down.

From Top Left: Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm, Nivea Lip Butter, and Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm
From Bottom Left: Cover Girl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm, Maybelline Color Whisper, Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids, Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss, and Rimmel Apocalips

Maybelline Color Tattoo

Maybelline's Color Tattoo is one of my favorite makeup products, so much so that I've mentioned them in past Monthly Favorites posts and have used them in my makeup tutorials is. Since they've been featured in so many previous posts, it's about time that I do a review on this long wearing shadow.

February Favorites

A lot of my February favorites are repeats from previous months. I didn't think that you'd want to keep reading about the same products over and over in each months favorites, so I'm only going to include items that I've never mentioned in my monthly favorites before. Sorry that this is a shorter post; I've been hooked on using a lot of the same products lately because I love them so much. Let me know in the comments below if you like this format or not.
